Villa of the week: Villa Sin Sin, a serene Bali getaway

Is this heaven, you ask? Villa Sin Sin in Bali may not be a beachside property, but it more than makes up for it with the kind of tranquility you can only get when you’re 100% in holiday mode. We’d say unplugged from technology as well, but we understand you’re probably going to want to Instagram every corner of this romantic villa.

The basics
Three individual villas make up the Villa Sin Sin compound. The 6-bedroom accommodates up to 12 people, the 4-bedroom is great for 8 people and the 2-bedroom sleeps up to 4.

Who it’s for
Small families or couples searching for a quiet Bali getaway should look no further than Villa Sin Sin.

Villa Sin Sin 1

Location
Nestled next to a paddy field in Kerobokan, Villa Sin Sin is 14.8km by road from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The area is very peaceful, and yet it is only a 20-minute drive from Seminyak.

The best bits
Each bedroom is furnished with king-size beds. It’s so easy to fall in love with how the villa puts luxury at the forefront of the experience, and one of our favourite ways to get acquainted with this is to see what the bathrooms are like. The 2-bedroom villa, for example, has a semi-open-air bathtub and shower patio (told you, #instagoals are inevitable).

Villa Sin Sin 2

Every villa has an outdoor pool, of course. In the afternoons, we recommend enjoying teatime or a siesta in the shady poolside bale.

The owner, Sin Sin Man intended for the villa to be her second home, a retreat away from her busy life, before she opened it up to guests. She worked with Italian architect Gianni Francione to bring the villa to life – Gianni was in charge of the architecture while Sin Sin took over the interior design. Artwork handpicked by Sin Sin decorates the villas.

Food & Drink
The in-house chef, who has been with the villa for over 15 years, specialises in Balinese and international cuisines. You can request for lunch and dinner to be prepared (the cost of groceries plus an extra 15.5% handling fee are borne by the guest). Alternatively, there’s always plenty to eat in town. For your in-villa breakfast, you have a choice of eating at the dining area that opens up to the pool area, at the poolside bale or on the rooftop terrace that overlooks the pool.
