Villa of the Week: Baan Ratree

The basics

On a hill and behind the walls of a secured gated community, Baan Ratree is a 4-bedroom (all king-size beds), 4.5 bathroom villa suitable for eight guests.

Comprised of three separate pavilions, the open-plan villa features soothing sea views, a living area that spreads seamlessly from the outdoors to the inside world, and a 17-metre pool with a shallow end for children.

Who it’s for

With its three pavilions and tons of open living space, Baan Ratree is ideal for groups of friends and families who want to tuck themselves into a private hideaway.

As well, Baan Ratree is one of eight villas within the Dhevatara Residence. If you’re looking to enjoy an event or have one of those mega family reunions, you can book as many of the villas as you want and have the entire group stay together (pending availability, of course).

Location

Located on Bophut Bay and with views out to the Big Buddha, Baan Ratree sits on the Northern Coast of Samui. The villa is just steps away from a quiet stretch of white sand beach. And 3.5 kilometres down that beach, you’ll find the main Bophut area and Fisherman’s Village.

Baan Ratree is only 20 minutes from Samui Airport.

What’s nearby

Fisherman’s Village, which is just a 5-minute trip by car, is one of the few remaining areas where you can experience Samui’s old-world charm. The village is also the island’s dining hub with over 40 restaurants – many of which are set up directly on the beach.

Maenam Beach is only 2.5-kilometres away and the popular day and nightlife town of Chaweng is 10-kilometres away.

Food & drink

The nearby Fisherman’s Village has everything you could ever want for food, but just because you’re on holiday doesn’t mean you have to eat out all the time. Breakfast is included, and there is an in-house chef available on request for THB 2,500++ per day or THB 1,500++ per meal. The chef is experienced in Western, Asian, Chinese and Vegetarian cuisines and more than happy to create special children’s dishes or accommodate your dietary needs.

The best bits

We love the laidback indoor/outdoor feel of Baan Ratree’s living spaces and the gorgeous sea views. There is something quite special about being able to watch the fishermen passing by in their boats each morning. Plus, the elevated poolside lounge area offers cool breezes and the most gorgeous backdrop for pool parties.

The beautiful bathrooms don’t hurt either!
