Taco Tuesday: 5 Incredible Taco Places Around the World

The only bad taco is the one you didn’t eat.

Tacos – those crispy, fried tortilla shells folded over a filling of seasoned ground beef, cheese, lettuce, chopped onions and tomato, yum! The best part? Sour cream dip with the extra guacamole. Now, tell us that’s not worth travelling for. While all the best Mexican food is found in Mexico and USA, we mean business when we’ve been hunting down incredible taco places around the world. The only thing between you and those juicy tortillas you’ve ever had is a plane ride away!

Editor’s note: Live every day like it’s Taco Tuesday!

#1 Seoul, South Korea – Gusto Taco

Popular through word of mouth, the only thing you need to worry about is how to squeeze more tacos in your tummy. Once you’ve had a bite of their pork tacos , you will want some more. We are talking about those fresh tortillas wrapped round pulled pork that have been cooked for 6hours. If you have time, say hello to the restaurant owner Aaron. Welcoming and super-friendly, he is more than happy to share his tacos secrets and will divulge in inside knowledge of the beautiful city of Seoul too.

#2 Mexico City, Mexico – Los Cocuyos

Imagine tacos with a mixture of juicy fats (no one said they were healthy!): brisket, sausage, and pork, all cooked together in the same pot. These meats are fried over a sheet of steel to give it that perfectly crisp edges. The final touches of lime, radishes, cilantro, onion and spicy red salsa or green sauce gives it that extra ‘kick’! Every bite is as soft and juicy as you imagine.

#3 New York, USA – Los Tacos No. 1

In classic New York style, you just grab ’em and go – so be sure to get more than one because you’ll definitely want another! The most popular choice of taco here is the pork adobada; slightly spicy, juicy, tender, and sliced on the spot. Garnishes like charred green onions, radishes and cucumbers are staked on the pickup counter so you can add as much on as your tastebuds please.

#4 Melbourne, Australia – Mamasita

A long time favourite of almost seven years, be prepared to queue at least half an hour before getting to taste those little juicy parcels. Do try the Lengua Tacos made with soft ox tongue, braised goat tostadas and corn smeared with chipotle mayo. You might think Eeuw! but trust us, you will definitely be left wanting more.

#5 Bangkok, Thailand – Sunrise Tacos

Thailand isn’t known for its Mexican cuisine, but this place is a true standout by any standards. All ingredients used here are super fresh, even their masa corn dough is made without any preservatives or additives. Here, we absolutely love two things: Taco Alhambres stuffed with ground sirloin beef, cheddar cheese and fresh tomato salsa, and secondly, everybody’s favourite, their fish tacos.
