Four beach destinations you need to tick off your bucket list

It’s never too late to squeeze in a final beach trip for the year, especially if you can do it with an extra night, courtesy of Club InterContinental. From now until October 17 2018, simply book two nights at a Club InterContinental room, suite or villa at any of the InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Bali, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to enjoy the additional night, which is valid for stays between 1 November 2018 to 31 March 2019.

Not sure which to fly off to? Let us help with our pick of the best beach destinations in the region.

#1 Phú Quốc, Vietnam

Take it from us: Phú Quốc is all set to be Southeast Asia’s most popular beach destination. If you haven’t been yet, get there now for optimum bragging rights and a first look at why everyone’s falling in love with this idyllic island. Unspoilt white sand beaches, crystal-clear ocean and super fresh seafood, of course, but also jungle trails, beautiful temples, watersports and the world’s longest oversea cable car.

InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort

Stay here: InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort. Unwind at the HARNN Heritage Spa, dine by the beach and savour the famous sunset views at the island’s highest sky bar.

#2 Koh Samui, Thailand

You can’t go wrong with Samui beaches. All around the island, the views are beautiful and the waters are clear. At low tide, you’ll find fellow Instagrammers hunting for the best spot from which to enjoy and document the sunset – in Samui, you get these in various colours, depending on the weather. It’s no wonder this Thai island is quickly becoming a popular wedding destination, too.

InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort

Stay here: InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort. Enjoy incredible views of the famous Five Islands and Angthong National Park, and one of the best spas on the island.

#3 Da Nang, Vietnam

Some of you may have seen or visited so many beaches in your lifetime, they all start to blend into one. But Da Nang beaches paint a unique picture thanks to the calm bay waters and hilly surrounds. There’s no better place for that rejuvenating retreat you’ve been aching for.

Stay here: InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. Dine at some of Vietnam’s top restaurants at the resort, including La Maison 1888, helmed by 3-star Michelin chef Pierre Gagnaire, or Citron, where you get panoramic views of the private bay. Did we mention the resort has a 700m private beach all to itself?

#4 Bali, Indonesia

Bali is always a good idea. Even if you’re a regular visitor to the island of the gods, there is always something new to discover. There are beaches densely populated by the party crowd during certain seasons of the year, but if you know where to look, you’ll also find hidden gems – quiet stretches of white sand you can enjoy with a few loved ones, drink with cocktail umbrella in hand.

InterContinental Bali Resort

Stay here: InterContinental Bali Resort. Built on the white sand shores of Jimbaran Bay, the resort is a beachfront haven but still close to Bali’s best hotspots.
