TLN Review: Casa De La Flora in Phuket

We’ve been excited about Casa de La Flora in Phuket ever since it made Conde Nast Traveller’s Hot List in 2012, and was named TripAdvisor’s Choice Winner in 2013. The 36 cubic-form villas are simply intriguing, designed to appear as though they’ve bloomed from the ground and reaching towards the sunlight.

Located along the unspoiled Bang Niang coastline, Casa de La Flora was designed by VaSLab Architecture. You’ll find tilted roofs, glass-fronted villas, natural stone walls and the beauty of surrounding rain forests.

A standout at this resort is the Dream Maker tailor-made service, where guests can have almost anything arranged. Whether it’s a tour around, a special dinner, yoga classes, all you need to do is ask.

The rooms: Bet you can’t wait to see what’s inside the villas! It doesn’t disappoint and in fact, exceeded our expectations. There are three to choose from; the Studio Pool, Duplex Grand Pool, and our favourite; the Beachfront Villa for its maximised view of the ocean.

All rooms are equipped with designer custom-made furniture, Lavazza coffee machine and capsules and BOSE sound dock. Connect your gadgets to the Apple entertainment system and stay connected, or just enjoy hours of your favourite music.

If like us, you’re especially impressed with well-designed bathrooms, you might never want to step out the gigantic bathtubs — you’re on vacation, so you don’t have to!

What to do:

  1. Eat. La Aranya has a shaded section and tables closer to the shore, with delicious Thai and western cuisine.
  2. Sunny skies? Soak up the sun and frolic in the sand or take a seat at the pool bar and order a couple of cocktails.
  3. Book a spa day. Spa la Casa has a wonderfully tempting menu that includes aromatherapy massages and body scrubs, as well as waxing (just in case you didn’t have time to get yourself sorted!) and manicures.
  4. Get active. Luxe Nomad members receive free access to the hotel’s Mountain Bikes & Water Sports Equipment (subject to availability and limited hours available).

Nomad rating: 5/5
Most memorable: The plunge pool.
We’d recommend it for: Nature lovers of all ages.

Shall we?
