What: Night markets are a common element in Southeast Asia after hours. The Geylang Serai bazaar in Singapore is one that warrants particular interest during the Ramadan season because of the sheer number of stalls offering local street food. Go with an empty stomach, a big wallet, and a lot of guts (to manoeuvre through the massive crowd).

Singapore Art Book Fair

What: Every year, the Singapore Art Book Fair attracts artists, exhibitors, publishers and art book enthusiasts, who come together for a creative weekend. Explore a wide selection of contemporary art books, zines, and prints, and take part in art-related fringe activities. Bring as many friends are you like; entrance to the exhibition is free.

Ultra Singapore

What: EDM buffs, flex your mouse fingers now, because tickets for Ultra Singapore are almost sold out. The two-day festival, which has an impressive cast of EDM giants in its linup (DJ Snake, Above & Beyond, Afrojack and Steve Angello are among them), will feature four stages, all located in one festival area appropriately called Ultra Park on Bayfront Avenue. If you don’t already know it, you’re in for an amazing view of the city skyline.

Escape The Heat Pop-Up Market

What: Singapore’s top artisanal brands like Minimalyst (pictured above) gather for a weekend of basement-level shopping, away from the tropical summer heat. It’s the perfect shopping destination if you’re stumped for last-minute Father’s Day gifts (we won’t tell!).

ArtScience Late: Your Ghosts from Yesteryears Visit Me Once in A While

What: Every third Thursday of the month, ArtScience Museum takes on a Night in the Museum vibe with after-hours performances. This June, it’s a theatrical piece by Singaporean multi-disciplinary artist Ezzam Rahman in his directional debut. The performance looks at various stages of Ezzam’s life, with a focus on love and desire. He will be accompanied by classical pianist Nabillah Jalal. Entrance to the show is free, but seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
