Villa of the Week: Baan Jakawan

The basics

Set on a hillside with 180-degree views of the Gulf of Thailand, Baan Jakawan is a 7-bedroom (four double bedrooms and three bedrooms with twin beds), and 7-bathroom villa just five minutes from the town of Chaweng. Baan Jakawan is suitable for fourteen guests.

The pool has a shallow end for children and a swim-up bar.

Location

The villa sits in the hills of Chaweng in Eastern Samui. It is an easy five-minute drive into Chaweng town, 900-metres from Chaweng Beach and just 2.9-kilometres from famed Choeng Mon Beach.

Samui International Airport is easily accessible from the villa too – it’s 2.5 kilometres away!

What’s nearby

The town of Chaweng, which is five minutes away, is one of Samui’s most exciting neighbourhoods. In town, you’ll find lots of lively nightlife with plenty of beachside bars, pubs and restaurants, all along one strip. There is also tons of shopping in Chaweng town, including the large lifestyle shopping complex, Central Festival Samui, a walking street and a night market.

Food & drink

There are plenty of food options in Chaweng town, but considering how fantastic Baan Jakawan’s in-house chef is, we’re pretty sure you won’t want to go anywhere else. The in-house chef is experienced in Thai, Western, Chinese, Asian, and Vegetarian cuisines (plus dishes specifically for the kids) and is happy to accommodate any of your dietary needs.

The chef’s Thai and BBQ dishes are highly recommended!

The best bits

There are almost too many things to love about Baan Jakawan, like how each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with free-standing tub, or how open all the living spaces are so you feel completely free no matter where you are within the property. Then there is the lovely staff, which includes the villa manager, an in-house chef and two housekeepers, all of whom are very discreet.

The absolute best thing, though, might be the pool. It’s 35-metres long, and it comes with a kiddie pool! It’s designed to be loved.
