We don’t need to delve into the “why’s” of shopping — it’s just fun. And if you’ve just celebrated the Chinese New Year, you’re either very, very broke or very, very rich. Either way, a girl can never have too many staples in her travel wardrobe. We spent hours shopping doing research online to find five investment pieces for the season.
#1 Seafolly Castaway Stripe Swimsuit
It might be February already, but some of us (ahem) have yet to jump on our fitness New Year resolutions. This flattering one-piece makes us never want to step on a treadmill for at least another couple of weeks. Just look at those geometric lines that give the illusion of a trimmed silhouette!

#2 iPhone 6 Palm Tree Phone Case – USD 36
If you were all about the green palm leaf motif in 2o16, you’re probably looking down at a very scratched-up tropical phone case right now. But this one’s no ordinary phone case. It’s called “goo.ey” and works by suction that creates a vacuum when pressed onto a phone’s surface. Incredibly chic, and it goes with the rest of our cohesive picks (you’ll see).

#3 The Waltz Cover-Up
When you’re feeling a little extra, and the white-tank-top-denim-shorts combo doesn’t cut it, say hello to this cover-up. This investment piece is made from high-quality lace and fringe, with a belt that accentuates your curves. At the risk of sounding too cliche, it’s very day-to-night.

#4 Noosa One Piece in Safari
Given the reasons stated in #1, and that we’re big foodie travellers, we love one-piece swimsuits (especially these other black ones). This one is reversible too, so if you flip it inside out, you get a whole new leopard print style with a hint of peach. Speaking of peach, the swimsuit has a very cheeky cut bottom.

#5 Globe-Trotter Safari Suitcase
Perhaps not the best choice for a week in Bali, the Safari suitcase is more appropriate for spring time in Europe. It’s inspired by the 1920s (our favourite era) and is made from sturdy yet lightweight fiberboard. The spacious 30″ canvas-lined interior will keep your belongings neat and secure, and a pull-out handle means you can breeze through the airport in style.
