The concept
The Legian is a grand Balinese style hotel with impressive interiors. It only makes sense that their restaurant, called The Restaurant, reflects the same style. The Restaurant is all about contemporary cuisine made using modern French techniques and Asian flavours and a focus on local, organic and sustainable ingredients.

The vibe
The Restaurant is traditional, Balinese, and yet contemporary and relaxed at the same time. We were seated in the prime spot, with the most exceptional view of the sunset.
At night, it has a very romantic atmosphere, with a live pianist, the dimly-lit ambience, candlelight, and again, the sunset view.
For who
It’s perfect for couples or couple friends who are in the Seminyak area and want a gorgeous view with some delicious Balinese food.
The best thing to order
Try the Evolve Tasting Menu with the wine pairing!
While they have an a la carte menu, we tried the Evolve menu which features the best of the best dishes. It’s a six-course menu filled with dishes like Black Ink Risotto, Silver Trevally, and Marinated Mahi Mahi. If you want to do it right, make sure to tack on the wine pairing.
If you want something different, you can also opt for the fresh seafood platter.

The best time to go
Head out for an early dinner, this way you can catch the sunset over the Legian and the beaches of Seminyak.
Most Instagrammable spot
With the pool right in front of you, the sunset view makes for a good photo (if you can capture it at just the right time)!
Be warned though that the lighting is quite dim, so taking photos of food might be a bit difficult. (We had to use a phone flashlight!)

What else you should know
The Restaurant actually shares the same strip of beach as some of the more famous beach clubs in the area like Ku De Ta and Oberoi.
You can also expect excellent service and a knowledgeable sommelier who will help you with your drinks.
