The Hybrid Holiday: Where to Train for HYROX in Bali and the Villas to Recover In

Whether you’re racing solo or splitting the sled push with someone, here’s where to train for HYROX in Bali and the villas to recover in.

If someone you know is: a) training for HYROX, b) always travelling, c) relentlessly posting Strava screenshots and plane windows on their Instagram stories, or d) all of the above — they’re either chronically single or blissfully engaged to a fellow hybrid athlete.

The good news is, while HYROX is jokingly the millennial and Gen Z cure for a love life (or lack thereof), the global fitness race is for the non-singles too. HYROX Doubles lets you split the race with a partner, romantic or otherwise, and HYROX Relay opens it up to a group of four.

Call me just another single girl in her 20s (I am), but signing up to suffer in public through ski ergs and sled pushes with your best and strongest friends sounds like a perfectly good excuse for a holiday. Am I right?

This brings us to the actual question: where do you train when the race is six weeks out but Bali is on your mind? Don’t fret, HYROX is all the rage in the Island of the Gods, too. Here’s a rundown of fitness studios across Canggu, Pererenan, Uluwatu, and Sanur offering HYROX conditioning classes to have you race-ready while working a golden tan.

CANGGU

It’s no surprise that most of the options are found in the coastal neighbourhood of Canggu. Bali’s fitness capital has so many gyms, they’re well on their way to outnumbering the cafés and beach clubs. Several offer dedicated HYROX conditioning sessions alongside their usual lineup of yoga, CrossFit, and open gym classes.

Nirvana Life

Nirvana Life is one of the more complete fitness setups on the island — weekly classes, an indoor and outdoor HYROX zone, pool, sauna, hot tub, and two ice bath plunge pools. This is the kind of place that handles training and recovery without requiring you to leave the premises.

Where to Stay

Villa Kavya: A four-bedroom villa set among Canggu’s paddy fields, with Nirvana Life less than ten minutes away by car. It’s also less than 10 minutes on foot to Berawa Beach, perfect for a post-class dip or surf session. The property itself has a 17m lap pool for anyone who needs more cardio, plus a yoga deck and a hammock gazebo for the hours in between.

BYND Fitness

BYND runs HYROX on its class schedule alongside functional fitness and mobility — walk-in friendly, no advance booking required. Tucked into Canggu’s rice paddies, the studio also has a 25m lap pool, ice bath, magnesium pool, and infrared sauna for full on recovery.

Where to Stay

Anandathu Villas: A short seven-minute drive to BYND, this four-villa enclave offers tw- and three-bedroom configurations, each with its own private pool and entrance. Teak joinery and polished concrete floors give the villas a calm, relaxing feel, with an on-site spa and private chef available on request.

Body Factory

An official HYROX Training Club, Body Factory offers over 50 classes a week, dedicated race-prep programming, a recovery zone with ice baths, saunas, plunge pools, and a community of regulars who treat HYROX less as a workout and more as a lifestyle.

Power + Revive

Power + Revive runs HYROX conditioning three times a week, alongside boxing and Pilates for the cross-training days. This tiny but mighty studio offers some solid programming, and a crowd that takes the sessions seriously.

Where to Stay

Villa Nonnavana: A four-bedroom villa in Batu Bolong, with rice paddy views, a 7m pool, daybeds, and just a four-minute ride to both Body Factory and Power+Revive. Popular spots like Deus Ex Machina, The Shady Shack, and Luigi’s are all within easy reach.

PERERENAN

Just up the coast from Canggu, Pererenan trades the buzz for serene rice paddies and a laid-back stretch of black sand beach. The studios here are newer, the neighbourhoods are calmer, and the villas are some of the most stylish on the island.

Omni

Opened in 2025, Omni is one of Pererenan’s newest wellness clubs. There’s a gym that runs group classes, a dedicated HYROX training area, and recovery facilities including cold plunges and sauna. It also has an open-air rooftop and a co-working space for the hours you’re not training.

Where to Stay

Akashi Residence: This six-bedroom villa in Pererenan, formerly known as Boss House Bali, is just a ten-minute drive to Omni. On-site you’ll find a semi-open-air gym with treadmill, arc trainer, multi-gym, and fluid rower; an ice bath; a yoga deck; and a pool with an iconic silver slide.

Elite Fit

Elite Fit runs dedicated HYROX conditioning classes with structured programming for first timers and seasoned hybrid athletes. The facilities — jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and an on-site restaurant — mean both the training and the recovery are covered.

Where to Stay

Villa Pangi Gita: A three-bedroom villa just four minutes by car to Elite Fit. Here, you’re close to Echo Beach and just far enough from central Canggu to get proper sleep. A private chef is available on request to handle the macro-friendly meals.

Villa Tana Takah: This striking architectural villa is another three-bedroom villa just a seven-minute ride from Elite Fit and only 250 metres from Echo Beach. It has minimalist interiors, an 8m pool, a rooftop terrace, and a cocktail bar for some post-workout refreshments.

Threshold

Threshold sits in Seseh, just north of Pererenan proper. Enjoy strength, mobility, HIIT, and HYROX conditioning in a quieter corner of the coast, well away from the Canggu crowds.

Where to Stay

Pantai Lima Estate: This sprawling estate has five separate villas within the grounds and is located just ten minutes by car from Threshold. Four of the villas boast direct beachfront access, and each comes with a 20m pool and dedicated staff. With a shared tennis court and gym, this is the place to book if you’re planning to invite your entire crew for a proper fitcation.

ULUWATU

The cliffs and the surf breaks are the headline, but Uluwatu’s fitness scene has been building its own reputation for years. We’ve singled out our favourite.

Raw Gym Uluwatu

Raw Gym runs HYROX conditioning sessions in Uluwatu’s growing training community, five minutes from the clifftop and within easy reach of the surf breaks. This gym doesn’t have on-site recovery facilities, which only means you need a villa that does the job.

Where to Stay

Cloud Nine Ungasan: Look no further than this five-bedroom hillside villa, just ten minutes by car from Raw Gym.  The wellness facilities here do the work better than most fitness studios: a dedicated sauna and ice bath pavilion, a massage room, an air-conditioned gym, and an open-air yoga deck. At the top you’ll find a bar, billiards table, a hot tub with valley views, and a 20m pool.

SANUR

Located on Bali’s east coast, the serene Sanur is ideal fit for families with small kids in tow. This relaxed coastal district also has a surprise up its sleeve: it boasts one of the island’s best-equipped HYROX facilities.

Paradise Bali

Paradise Bali offers daily HYROX conditioning classes alongside CrossFit, a pool, ice bath, and an on-site café. It’s located on Sanur’s main road, which means it’s easy to find and easier to show up consistently.

Where to Stay

Manu Villas: A twin-villa estate in Sanur, just an eight-minute ride to Paradise Bali. The two properties, which can be booked separately or together, each come with a pool, ice bath, and in-villa gym equipment.

Whether you’re doing 100 wall balls solo or doing tag teams for your upcoming race, the hard part (choosing your fitcation, duh) is already sorted.

Just book the flights and the villa, and we’ll handle the rest. Your job? Training hard and recovering well so you can record a personal best at your next HYROX.
