Koh Samui Nightlife: The White Lotus Party Guide

Party like the characters in The White Lotus Season 3 with our little black book on the hottest nightlife venues and after-dark itineraries in Koh Samui.

Beyond the postcard-perfect beaches and luxurious villas, Koh Samui is also home to cool bars and clubs that come alive after dark.

You’ll get a pretty good glimpse of it in episode 5 of The White Lotus Season 3. Laurie, Kate and Jaclyn drink and dance with Valentin’s friends on a drunken night out in Fisherman’s Village. This well-known nightlife and shopping spot also stood in for the Full Moon party scenes featuring Chloe, Chelsea and the brothers Lochlan and Saxon.

Bangrak

Situated on Samui’s northeastern coast, Bangrak enjoys proximity to cool beach clubs, restaurants and cafés. This beachside neighbourhood is also less crowded when compared to Chaweng, so you’ll get to enjoy both proximity to the airport (5km or a 15-minute drive away) as well as easy access to other parts of the island.

Bangrak is also a top choice if you’re looking to do boat trips. Visit the beautiful Ang Thong Marine Park to sightsee and enjoy snorkelling. Or explore Koh Phangan, the actual island that’s famous for Full Moon parties.

Party at: Beachfront venues with swim-up bars and all-day entertainment. Our recommendations include Chi Beach Club which hosts acoustic nights as well as deejay sets. Tembo Beach Club is another top pick, for its breezy and relaxed vibe that’s also a family-friendly spot during the day.

You can also try Blind Tiger, which marries a speakeasy vibe with a fusion of flavours for its food and drink menu. The Deck is another beach club and live music venue to check out. It’s conveniently located midway between Bangrak and attractions in Bophut.

Villa Veha

Stay at: Villa Veha, a massive 8-bedroom villa made for day-to-night fun with your crew. This fully-staffed property comes with a private cinema, spacious pool deck as well as a large bar and dining area. Be spoilt by in-villa services that include a private chef on request as well as concierge services to have your day trips arranged with ease, such as from Petcherat Marina. Villa guests can reach out to our friendly Guest Experiences team for itinerary recommendations and assistance with activity bookings and table reservations.

Bophut

For first-timers to Koh Samui, your trip won’t be complete without a visit to Fisherman’s Village in Bophut. You’ll love hitting up the bars and beach clubs in the area, and there’s also good shopping to enjoy. Check out the vibrant night market held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Party at: This lively beachside stretch is home to the local institution, Coco Tam’s. It’s very likely where the girl gang Laurie, Kate and Jaclyn danced the night away. Another popular spot is Woobar at W Koh Samui. Think sunken seats, magnificently set in a sea-facing reflection pool worthy of a spot on your Instagram feed.

Dhevatara Residence

Stay at: Any of the 8 beachfront or sea-facing pool villas at Dhevatara Residence. Enjoy the amazing views and privacy, while being just a quick drive to Fisherman’s Village. Rumour has it that some celebrities have also chosen this exclusive location for their Samui holidays, too. Book your stay and experience it for yourself!

Chaweng

Head east of Samui to the lovely shores of Chaweng, which has a mix of luxury resorts and trendy beach clubs. As the island’s nightlife epicentre, Chaweng is the place to be if you want the Full Moon Party experience, without going to Koh Phangan.

Chaweng’s central location also makes it ideal for exploring other parts of the island, with both Lamai and Bophut just a short drive away.

Ranging between 6 to 8-bedroom configurations, each villa offers majestic sea views and a wide array of amenities, including infinity pools, private Jacuzzis, and even an outdoor cinema. Sangsuri Estate is just a short drive away from Chaweng’s buzzing scene, so you can enjoy the peace and privacy of your villa by day, and then head into town for an epic night out.

Lipa Noi

A peaceful retreat from Samui’s more bustling areas, Lipa Noi is renowned for its luxurious villas, laid back vibes and calm waters. It’s perfect for families and couples seeking a relaxing escape. Although more subdued than Chaweng or other nightlife hubs on the island, the area has a curated selection of beautiful beachfront spots that offer great cocktails and energetic live music to enjoy while taking in stunning sunset views.

Party at: Nikki Beach Club, a world-class luxury resort with resident DJs who pump up beach beats all day long. Cap the weekend at their legendary Sunday Brunch where guests can savour international cuisine and enjoy special drum and saxophone performances.

Ban Suriya

Stay at: Ban Suriya, an elegant beachfront villa with 6 uniquely-designed bedrooms, housing up to 12 guests and offering various spaces for lounging such as the entertainment room, beachside treehouse, and a sunken library with underwater views of the pool. The property is a short walk to Nikki Beach Club, and an 8-minute drive to La Wanon Waterfall — making it the ideal stay for those who want a balance of relaxation and exploration.

Taling Ngam

Taling Ngam is another hidden gem on Koh Samui, offering a serene and charming beach experience surrounded by lush green hills. It provides a perfect vantage point for viewing the nearby “Five Islands” and Samui’s breathtaking sunsets. As one of the less developed landscapes on the island, Taling Ngam is a true oasis.
