It Girl: How to Travel (in Style) Like Georgina Wilson

It’s the year of Philippine’s ‘It Girls’. The four beauties; Georgina Wilson, Solenn Heussaff, Isabelle Daza, and Liz Uy are all anyone can talk about in the entertainment world these days. Now starring in their own reality show It Girls on the E! network, it’s been a hectic year for them—business, travel, weddings, and now Wilson is even expecting her first child with her husband, businessman Arthur Burnand! Catching up with the model/former host of Asia’s Next Top Model on a Luxe Nomad adventure to Hong Kong, we wanted to find out how an ‘it girl’ travels the world.

Let’s start packing. Got any tips?

I am the worst at packing so I tend to overpack like crazy! Even still, I always end up buying new clothes when I arrive at my destination.

How do you stay entertained on long flights?

I read emails—I’m actually my most productive in flights!

What’s on your travel playlist?

Anything with a very chilled out vibe, such as Ta-ku and Hot Chip.

What’s one thing definitely worth travelling for?

Seeing different ways of how people live! I love travelling because of that.

What’s been your favourite vacation… so far?

The last trip I had is always my new favourite one, so I can’t really pick one!

How do you plan a getaway with your partner, Arthur (without going crazy)?

Find an activity you both enjoy doing together, book reservations at really great restaurants, and my best advice: sleep in.

What makes a trip with a Arthur fun, in your opinion?

I get to have and share new experiences with him.

Next to tick off your bucket list:

South Africa

Vacation time—skip the workout or keep at it?

Keep at your fitness routine. I like to find a studio nearby or a class I can take, no matter where I am.

Where should a Luxe Nomad definitely travel to?

Hmm… London, perhaps.

Best travel advice?

Live like a local!

How was your stay at J Plus Hotel by YOO?

I love how stylish the hotel is. My room was so chic and comfy!

Top 4 things to do in Hong Kong:

  1. Try roast goose; it’s a local delicacy
  2. Hike up to The Peak
  3. Tour Victoria Harbour on a cruise
  4. Shop till you drop

The number one way to ‘travel like Georgina Wilson’ is to…

Miss a few flights because I’m always running late.
